The NACS Victory Lap

Following Tesla's opening of its proprietary North American Charging Standard (NACS) and its subsequent adoption by nearly all major automakers (Ford, GM, etc.), NACS has become the de facto standard for US electric vehicles (simulated late 2025 context). The strong 'Yes' vote is based on the overwhelming industry consolidation around NACS. While the Combined Charging System (CCS) remains technically the regulated standard, the government's goal is interoperability and ease of use. It is highly likely that the Department of Transportation or another federal body will formalize and mandate NACS as the definitive single national standard before the end of 2028 to unify the charging network and simplify consumer adoption.
